As someone who spent my pre-teen years in the 1980s, arcades were a big part of my childhood. It 'hard to visualize now, but you could not with the incredible atmosphere that arcades once had. They were dark as caves. The only light in the city, had resonance screens. The joystick and buttons covered in grease from the pizzeria next.
It was a simpler time. 99.9% of the games actually cost only a quarter to play. They always have the value of money. I remember playing in a situation and to beat Double Dragon in a single quarter by a multiple. One could spend quite a lot 'of hours in a tunnel at the time with only $ 5.
The games, but certainly not as flashy by today's standards, it can still hold in terms of fun and replayability. The fun games like Donkey Kong and Outrun still seem fresh. Who can deny the addictive jumping over barrels as possible to save the princess? Video > Games usually consist of a joystick with one or two buttons. Obviously there needs to be NASA engineer games to enjoy this.
Video game designer had then not all high-tech power that video games can be used for today. While today, the presentation of the game, the super-sharp graphics and innovative sound to help you, arcade games were 80 to focus on gameplay, with no bells and whistles.
Even the lesser-known arcadeGames> time yet to play an explosion. Games like King Rink, NARC and Altered Beast are not household names, but I deny anyone not to stop to kill a couple of hours playing them.
There is something so amazing take on the establishment of this quality without the best equipment, people take for granted now. For each can fire with a lighter, but it began much more impressive if it is done with a few sticks.
